Welcome to Cambridge Engineering.  Arriving here may see a bit overwhelming - these notes are to help you through the first few days.  After that, all should have become clear.  Good luck!

Preparatory Problems

You should have been sent the link to the Moodle website. If not ask your College Tutorial office immediately.

Freshers' Guide

Available on line and also incorporated in a note book that you will receive from your Director of Studies at the start of the term.

Meeting with your Director of Studies (compulsory)

This should happen before Tuesday 4 October.  You will pick up the following course information: Briefing Notes for First Year Students (READ THESE),  Lecture card, Laboratory Schedule, Examples Paper/Class Schedule, Supervision arrangements.  Please make sure you put the key dates/times in your diary/Google Calendar.

Figure out your timetables

For help with these, see 'How to read.....' attachments with sample Lecture timetable and Lab schedule.   Animated versions of the timetable is available.  More dates/times for your diary.

Registration at Department (compulsory)

Tuesday 4 October

Details/times in the Briefing Notes.

Introductory Lectures (compulsory)

Wednesday 5 October 9.15-12.15.  Details/times in the Briefing Notes.

Preparation before Lectures/Labs Start (on Thursday 6 October)

Find your way around the Department (map given in Freshers' notebook)

Find out your general LAB GROUP number/partner (Web or Baker Building Foyer and on line)

Find out your LEGO MINDSTORMS LAB GROUP number/partners

Find out your EXPOSITION class leader and location of the first session (web or Baker Building foyer)

Find out where you have your Lego Mindstorms activity on Thursday 6th

Read the preparatory material on Lego Mindstorms activity

Find and Collect Examples Papers

Issued on Wednesdays: first papers are out October 5th and can be found in the boxes/racks in the Inglis Building corridor.
